CR100 Rail

CR100 Rail

Product Overview

CR100 Rail is a Japanese-standard heavy rail designed and manufactured to meet JIS E1103-91 / JIS E1101-93. Made from high-strength manganese alloy steel (U71Mn / 900A), CR100 delivers exceptional load-bearing capacity, bending resistance and fatigue life — suitable for high-speed rail, heavy-haul lines and crane rails.

Performance highlights

  • Superior strength & bending resistance — optimized I-section profile plus quench & temper process provide high bending stiffness and yield capacity for high-speed and heavy axle loads.

  • Excellent wear resistance — dense microstructure with fine, uniform grains reduces wear and extends service life.

  • Outstanding fatigue resistance — designed and validated for high-cycle loading; suitable for millions of load cycles.

  • Good corrosion resistance — optional surface corrosion treatments available for harsh environments to reduce life-cycle cost.

Typical applications

  • High-speed rail — stable running surface, reduced vibration and noise, longer life under dynamic loads.

  • Heavy haul freight — supports repeated high axle loads (ten-tonne class), suitable for axle loads ≥ 270 kN.

  • Crane rails / port gantry rails — high fatigue life and load capacity for gantry and overhead cranes.

  • Urban rail & transit — smooth, stable running surface and low maintenance for frequent start/stop operation.

Quality standards & testing

  • Standards: JIS E1103-91 / JIS E1101-93 (please confirm clause references and any newer revisions).

  • Quality management: ISO 9001 certified (state version and certificate number on request).

  • Testing: Complete mechanical testing (tensile, yield, elongation, hardness, impact toughness), plus ultrasonic and eddy-current NDT; third-party inspection reports can be provided.

Supply & customization

  • Standard lengths: 10 m, 12 m (custom cuts available).

  • Surface finishes: as-rolled, galvanized, or anti-corrosion coating (optional).

  • Processing services: hole punching, cut-to-length, welding, secondary heat treatment and other custom processing.

  • Minimum order quantity (MOQ): dependent on configuration and contract; please request a quotation for firm MOQ.

  • Packaging & transport: tailored to shipping method and destination; details provided with quotation.

Manufacturing process

  1. Refining & melting — 150 t top-and-bottom blown converter → LF refining → VD vacuum degassing to ensure steel cleanliness.

  2. Rolling — billet continuous casting → reheating → high-pressure water descaling → rough rolling → universal mill finishing; typical 100-m rail produced within 8 minutes on the line.

  3. On-line heat treatment — quench (cooling rate 20–50 °C/s) → tempering to achieve optimum metallurgical structure and balanced strength/toughness.

  4. Precision finishing & inspection — multi-stage straightening → ultrasonic testing → eddy-current inspection → surface treatment and dimensional verification.

Installation & maintenance notes

  • Ensure rail seating and fastening systems match the CR100 section and design loads.

  • Follow recommended heat-treatment and welding procedures for on-site jointing.

  • Schedule regular NDT inspections in heavy-duty or high-traffic applications to monitor wear and fatigue.

FAQs

Q:Can CR100 Rail be welded?

A:Yes. Welding is possible but must follow the specified welding procedure for U71Mn; post-weld heat treatment may be required. We can supply welding procedure specifications.

A:Lead time depends on order size and customization; standard orders typically ship within 2 weeks (please provide project details for a precise schedule).

A: Sample pieces and test coupons can be supplied; charges and lead times apply.
