JIS Crane Rail

Overview

CR73 and CR100 are heavy-duty crane rails manufactured to JIS E1103-91 / JIS E1101-93 standards. Both profiles are produced from U71Mn alloy steel and delivered after normalizing + tempering heat treatment. They are engineered for Japanese-standard large lifting equipment and optimized for high static loads and repeated impact loading. Typical application sectors include ports, metallurgy, shipbuilding and large automated warehousing.

Technical Specifications & Weight

Comparison with Common JIS Rail Types

ModelRecommended Rated LoadMass (kg/m)Typical Use

CR7330–50 t73.3Heavy plant / warehouse lifting
CR100≥ 50 t100.2Port / metallurgical ultra heavy-duty

Performance Highlights

  • High load capacity & impact resistancethick webs and beefed profiles reduce stress concentration and distribute wheel loads more effectively than conventional lighter rails.

  • Improved wear lifelarger head widths increase wheel contact area (approx. 60%–85% larger contact area versus typical 30A/50N rails), significantly lowering wear rate and extending service life.

  • JIS interface compatibility geometry and tolerances conform to JIS, enabling direct fit with Japanese cranes and gantry systems without modification.

  • Material & treatment balanceU71Mn provides a favorable combination of strength and wear resistance; alternative alloy options (e.g., Cr–Mo) can be supplied for enhanced low-temperature toughness or corrosion resistance.

Manufacturing Tolerances & Process Guarantees

  • Rail height tolerance: ±2.0 mm.

  • Base width tolerance: ≤ ±1.8 mm.

  • Standard heat treatment: normalizing + tempering. Optional surface hardening (e.g., induction hardening) and other treatments available on request.

  • Standard non-destructive testing (NDT): ultrasonic / magnetic particle / dye penetrant as required. Third-party inspection (e.g., SGS/TÜV) available by agreement.

  • Standard delivery documents: Material Test Certificate (MTC), heat treatment records, NDT reports, dimensional inspection report.

Note: Detailed mechanical and chemical property tables (tensile strength, yield, hardness, Charpy impact at specified temperatures, chemical composition ranges) can be specified in the purchase order and will be provided as test reports.

Selection Guide

  • 30–50 t rated equipment: CR73 — balance of cost and heavy-duty capability; appropriate for heavy service within plants and warehouses.

  • ≥50 t or very high-frequency duty: CR100 — recommended for port, metallurgy, shipbuilding and other extreme-duty environments.

For precise matching we recommend providing wheel profile, wheel flange dimensions, equipment rated load and expected duty cycle so we can calculate contact stresses and projected service life.

Installation & Maintenance Guidance

  • Provide specified rail pads/blocks, fasteners and substructure design to avoid local settlement or misalignment.

  • Welding: follow preheat and post-weld heat treatment recommendations to maintain mechanical integrity of welded joints.

  • Commissioning inspection schedule: recommended checks at commissioning, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months, monitoring rail head wear, dimensional stability and fastener condition.

  • Storage & transport: protect against moisture and mechanical damage; apply rust preventive coating and avoid stacking that could cause permanent deformation.

Customization, Services & Certification

  • Mechanical customization: End-hole drilling, flange machining, butt welding (seamless welding) and specific hole positioning.

  • Surface & heat-treatment options: Induction-hardened rail head, case hardening, nitriding, thermal spray or protective coatings.

  • Alternate materials: On request, rails can be produced in Cr–Mo or other alloy steels to meet extreme low-temperature toughness or corrosion resistance requirements.

  • Quality & certification: Conformity to JIS E1103-91 / JIS E1101-93. Standard delivery package includes MTC and factory test reports. Third-party certification available by arrangement.

  • After-sales: Installation guidance, first-year wear monitoring service and a 1 year warranty (specific warranty scope detailed in contract).

Delivery Package & Contact

Standard delivery set includes rails (finished), Material Test Certificate (MTC), heat treatment record, NDT report and dimensional inspection sheet.
If you require 2D drawings, STEP/IGES models, a full technical data sheet (with sample mechanical/chemical values), or factory inspection checklists (IQC/FAT) we will provide them upon request.

Please provide your project reference, required document format (PDF/Word/Excel), and any specific mechanical/chemical test requirements so we can issue a formal technical package and quotation.
