QU120 Rail
Product Overview
The QU120 rail combines an extra-wide 120 mm head, a 44 mm thickened web and a 170 mm height/base to deliver exceptional lateral and longitudinal stiffness for ultra-heavy crane service. Made in U71Mn as standard, QU120 meets YB/T5055-2014 and is ideal for ports, metallurgy, shipyards and other extreme-duty environments where wheel loads, impact and frequent cycling demand superior strength and wear resistance.
Key points
Massive load capacity: Designed for 100–400 tonne equipment and continuous high-impact heavy duty service.
Outstanding wear & fatigue resistance: Standard U71Mn ; head hardness HB 260–300 for long service life.
Exceptional structural stability: 120 mm wide head + 44 mm thickened web + 170 mm height/base for enhanced lateral and longitudinal stiffness.
Full customization & kits: Lengths 6–12 m, special machining (bevels, drilled holes, milling, surface hardening) and complete accessory packages (fishplates, bolts, rubber pads).
Stringent quality control: Hot roll → quench & temper → ultrasonic inspection → precision machining → full testing. ISO9001:2008 certified; fully compliant with YB/T5055-2014.

Typical applications
Port terminals: Ship-to-shore gantry cranes (STS), rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTG), heavy bulk handling cranes — wheel loads ~600–800 kN.
Metallurgy & foundries: Ladle cranes, slab handling cranes, coke oven pushers and related rails exposed to high temperature and heavy impact.
Other heavy industries: Shipyard gantry cranes (e.g., 300 t class), mine hoisting equipment, hydro-power plant heavy equipment installation rails.
Installation & recommended practices
Fastening system: Use matched mounting components and balanced anchoring to prevent lateral movement.
Rail joining: Recommend DC reverse polarity welding. Preheat when ambient temperature < 10°C and strictly control weld quality.
Precision requirements: Gauge tolerance ≤ ±3 mm; flatness ≤ 1 mm per 2 m to ensure smooth crane operation.
