Steel Arch

Steel Arch for Mining

Overview

Our Mine Steel Arch Support System combines mature material selection with structural design to serve both initial and permanent support in underground workings. Suitable for coal and hard-rock mines as well as tunnel works, we supply standardised models and engineer bespoke solutions based on geotechnical inputs. Key performance claims are backed by static tests, trial assemblies or independent verification and are offered as contractual guarantees where specified. For model specs, test reports or to request an on-site survey, download the product brochure or contact our engineering team.

Application Scenarios

  • Coal Mines: Initial support for roadways; support for gate roads and mining areas; node support for shaft bottoms (pit bottoms) and shaft crossheads (horsehead gates).
  • Metal Mines: Reinforcement for hard-rock roadways (e.g., in gold and copper mines), fault fracture zones, and large-section intersections.
  • Tunnel Engineering: Initial support for highway/railway tunnels; support for intersections between inclined shafts and transverse tunnels.
  • Special Working Conditions: Customized support solutions for high ground stress, strong corrosion, high water pressure, and other adverse geological sections.

Customization Services & Processes

Types of Customization Services

  • Geological Adaptation Customization: For conditions such as high ground stress, high humidity, and fault fracture zones, optimize cross-sections, joints, and anti-corrosion solutions, and match them with composite support measures including anchoring and grouting.
  • Structural Parameter Customization: Support cross-section forms such as straight-wall semicircle, three-centered arch, and horseshoe shape. The maximum span and dimensions are agreed upon in the contract and confirmed through structural verification.
  • Functional Module Customization: Anti-corrosion modules (multiple coating solutions), connection modules (cable clamps, bolts, welding), supporting tie rods, backing materials, and advanced small conduits, etc.

Customization Service Process

  • Requirement Diagnosis: Conduct on-site surveys, collect geological reports and construction drawings, and clarify the design boundary conditions.
  • Scheme Design: Establish a 3D model, conduct stress simulation and working condition verification, and issue a customized scheme and quotation.
  • Prototype Trial Production & Verification: Manufacture 1-2 prototype frames for trial assembly and static load/combined load tests (if required), and issue a test report.
  • Mass Production & Inspection: Produce in accordance with confirmed drawings and inspection standards; conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) and material re-inspection on key welds and key components as agreed.
  • On-site Installation & Acceptance: Provide installation technical disclosure, on-site guidance, trial installation acceptance and quality records, and offer recycling and reuse solutions when necessary.

In addition, I-steel/channel steel arch supports and square steel tube concrete composite arch supports can be selected based on cross-section and force requirements, with special verification conducted accordingly.

Key Points for Acceptance& Testing and Quality Control

  • Material Inspection: Provide factory material certificates (chemical composition, mechanical properties) and conduct sampling inspection in accordance with the contract.
  • Manufacturing Inspection: Inspect appearance, dimensional tolerances, groove and weld appearance.
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): It is recommended that key welds be subject to 100% ultrasonic testing (UT) or radiographic testing (RT); other welds shall be sampled and inspected at a proportion specified in the contract (e.g., 20%), with standards for defect determination and repair clearly defined.
  • Surface Anti-Corrosion Inspection: For galvanization, specify the minimum acceptance values for galvanization amount (g/m² or Z code) and film thickness (μm), and agree on quality assurance clauses based on the results of accelerated corrosion tests.
  • Load-Bearing Test/Trial Assembly: For major projects or key nodes, static load tests or combined stress tests shall be conducted. The test methods and judgment criteria shall be included in the contract.
  • Delivery Records: Production records, material certificates, inspection reports, installation records and test reports shall be provided as essential delivery documents.

FAQs

Q:How is load capacity guaranteed?

A:Load capacity is guaranteed as specified in the contract and supported by finite element calculations and static/combined load tests or independent verification reports. Trial assembly results are used for final acceptance.

A:Expected performance depends on site conditions. Coating system and expected life are agreed following environmental assessment and accelerated corrosion testing; warranty terms are defined in the contract.
