Crane Tracks
Overview
QU-Series Crane Tracks are specialized for heavy-duty crane runways and hoisting systems where extreme load capacity, continuous operation, and long service life are non-negotiable. We supply industry-leading profiles (QU70, QU80, QU100, QU120 or equivalents) with customizable options including pre-machining, drilling, welding, and protective finishes. On-site installation support is provided, supplemented by mill test certificates (MTCs) and rigorous QA documentation to meet the demands of high-intensity applications.
Technical Specifications & Weight
Key Advantages
- Enhanced Load Capacity: Engineered to withstand extreme concentrated wheel loads and frequent dynamic impact from heavy-duty cranes/hoists in continuous operation.
- Superior Stability: Optimized profile design ensures maximum wheel-to-track contact, reducing stress concentration and extending service life in high-intensity environments.
- Precision Manufacturing: Tighter dimensional tolerances guarantee accurate alignment of crane runways and bridge travel, enabling smooth, vibration-free operation.
- Heavy-Duty Compatibility: Industry-standard profiles with dedicated spare sections, joints, and accessories designed for heavy-duty applications and easy replacement.
- Customization Options: Supplied cut-to-length, pre-machined, drilled, or pre-welded to fit runway brackets and end-stops; surface coatings and hardening available on request.
- Complete Traceability & QA: Material certification (MTC), dimensional inspection reports, and non-destructive testing (NDT) documentation provided per order.
Typical Applications
- Shiploader / berth gantries: Powers heavy shiploader gantries and mobile berth cranes at mine export terminals, ensuring smooth continuous travel during bulk carrier loading.
- Port rail-mounted gantries (RMGs): Ideal for mine-port logistics interfaces, supporting continuous high-load operation in container and bulk cargo handling.
- Heavy-duty stockyard gantries: Used in large-scale port and open-pit stockyards for stacker-reclaimers handling high-volume ore (iron ore, coal, bauxite).
- Mine-site transfer cranes: Supports conveyor transfer stations and heavy equipment moving in mining operations requiring extreme load capacity.
- Wagon tipplers / heavy-duty handling bridges: Provides stable travel for trolleys positioning and tipping heavy ore wagons at high-capacity load/unload facilities.
Installation Recommendations
Pre-Installation
- Check: Verify profile model, delivery lengths, and MTC compliance before installation.
- Lift/Store: Use spreader bars for lifting; store on level skids to prevent warping.
Installation
- Mount: Ensure level track seats, use high-strength bolts with specified torque; utilize shims for alignment (do not bend tracks).
- Jointing: Weld for continuous runs in high-load areas; use heavy-duty fishplates/bolts for sections requiring future replacement.
- Test: Conduct low-speed roll test post-installation, then recheck bolt tightness and alignment.
Routine Maintenance
Daily: Visual inspection for loose bolts, debris, or surface damage.
Periodic: Torque checks, wear measurement, and NDT at critical stress points (especially for continuous operation applications).
Repair: Only certified welders perform repairs; replace cracked or excessively worn sections immediately to avoid load failure.
Safety: Isolate crane operation, secure hot-work permits, and use appropriate PPE during maintenance.
