Track Jack
Overview
The hydraulic track jack (also referred to as track jack or Rail Lifting jack) is a core maintenance tool for underground coal mine track works and turnout servicing. Using hydraulic actuation, it performs vertical lifting and lateral alignment in an integrated operation. Key advantages include explosion-proof adaptation, compact structure, and high operational efficiency. Suitable for maintenance and emergency adjustments of mining rails from 12 to 75 kg/m.
Technical Principles & Structure
Working Principle
A four‑bar linkage combined with a piston hydraulic system converts manual or motor input into high‑pressure oil (typically 48–70 MPa). The oil actuates the cylinder piston to drive the lift wheel and lateral pad via pinned linkages for synchronized lifting and lateral alignment. Built‑in relief valves protect against overload; quick‑return valves shorten cycle time.
Main Components
- Power Unit: Manual plunger pump (for portable models) or explosion-proof motor-pump unit (for heavy-duty/continuous operations).
- Actuator: Chromium-plated oil cylinder (corrosion-resistant) and wear-resistant track lifting wheel (hardness HRC55).
- Safety Elements: Ex d I Mb explosion-proof enclosure, 60–70 MPa relief valve, sealed oil tank, and high-pressure hoses.
Typical use cases
Core advantages
Explosion-proof design certified for hazardous underground environments (e.g., Ex d I Mb).
Combined lifting-and-alignment function reduces carried equipment and operation steps.
Stable hydraulic output reduces manual labor and increases work efficiency.

Selection Guide
Quick Rules of Thumb
- For explosion-proof requirements in the working environment: Prioritize the FBYQ-20T or models equipped with an explosion-proof motor.
- For heavy rail or turnout maintenance: Prioritize the YQBD-294 or YQBJ-300×200.
- For narrow tunnels or scenarios requiring single-person handling: Choose the YQB-200 portable model.
Maintenance & Safety
Daily Pre-Shift Check
- Oil Tank Level: Refill with ISO VG46 anti-wear hydraulic oil if the level is less than 1/3 of the scale.
- Seal Inspection: Check for no leakage at the oil cylinder and joints.
- Mechanism Flexibility: Operate the handle under no-load condition to ensure there is no piston stick-slip.
- Explosion-Proof Components (if applicable): Inspect the fitting clearance of the enclosure and fasteners.
Scheduled Maintenance
| Interval | Item | Standard |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | Replace hydraulic oil filter | Filtration precision ≥ 10 μm |
| Quarterly | Calibrate relief valve pressure | Pressure error ≤ ±2 MPa |
| Half-Yearly | Disassemble cylinder to replace sealing ring | Nitrile rubber, temperature resistance: -40~120 ℃ |
Safety Prohibitions
- It is strictly forbidden to operate without the protection of a relief valve (to prevent system overpressure and burst).
- For explosion-proof models, it is prohibited to disassemble the motor in non-explosion-proof areas or damage the explosion-proof structure.
- The lifting stroke shall not exceed the rated value (e.g., the lifting stroke of YQB-200 is strictly prohibited to exceed 125 mm).
Procurement Tips
Determine the model only after clarifying the working rail type (kg/m), whether explosion-proof capability is required underground, the maximum single lifting stroke, and handling requirements.
For continuous operation or long-term power-driven scenarios, prioritize selecting electric pump units and twin-cylinder structures to enhance reliability and heat dissipation performance.
